North Augusta, SC…… Mr. Christopher Shawn Thiede, 51, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence.
His memorial service will be held in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. James D. Dennis, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
A lifelong resident of North Augusta, Chris was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He graduated from North Augusta High School and the University of South Carolina. He loved sports, especially Gamecock sports. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and loved them deeply.
Survivors include his mother, Wilma Thiede McNair (Lloyd), his sister Ashlyn Thiede Hardy (David), his niece Marclee Hardy McDaniel (Andrew) and his aunt Barbara Sweeney (Bob). Chris was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Thiede, Sr., his brother, Robert Joseph “Jay” Thiede, Jr. and his grandparents, John and Dorothy Ouzts and Gertrude S. Thiede.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Columbarium Fund of Grace UMC, 639 Georgia Ave. North Augusta, SC 29841; Epworth Children’s Home, 2900 Millwood Ave, Columbia, SC 29205 or SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Rd, Aiken, SC 29801.
