William Wall Obituary

Augusta, GA……. Mr. William Stewart Wall entered into rest at his residence on August 10, 2024.

Stewart was born May 25, 1944 in Augusta, GA to the late Beverly Clay Wall and Virginia Alexander Wall. He served his country in the US Navy, and worked for many years at Grainger Industrial Supply in Augusta.

As he reflected on his life, Stewart wrote:

“It’s been a good one, and I have few regrets. I’ve done most of the things I wanted to do and a lot of things most only dream of: I’ve raced boats and cars, owned the 1969 Corvette 427 tri-power, had a 1932 Ford five window coupe with a 300 HP Corvette engine.

“I’ve played five string banjo in a bluegrass band and picked with some of the best pickers in the world. I’ve been scuba diving in Key Largo. I wanted to learn to fly, so I got my commercial pilots license and flew most every place I wanted to–the beach, the mountains–I’ve flown sailplanes, WWII-era planes, and it was a ball.”

Stewart said he had “some of the greatest friends ever,” was proud of his family and his family history, and had “the greatest parents anyone could wish for.”

He concluded by writing, “So if anyone feels sorry for me, don’t! Because I feel that I’ve done most everything I wanted and a few things I wish I hadn’t. And the things I miss most, are the good friends who have gone on before me and those whom I leave behind.” And, “P.S. May God be as good to you as he has been to me.”

In addition to his parents, Stewart was preceded in death by his brother, Beverly “Bobby” Charles Wall, and his sister, Mary Kelly Wall.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Miriam Wall; a nephew, Charles Wall Jr.; and a niece, Miriam Virginia Wall.

A memorial service honoring Stewart’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel.
