Wes Kirkland

A memorial service for Herbert Wesley “Wes” Kirkland, II will take place Sunday, February 20, 2022, 3:00 PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church 1032 Atomic Rd. North Augusta, SC 29841 and may be viewed via live stream by using the following link https://livestream.com/rowlandford/events/10175156. Wes, 37 of League City, Texas passed away at his home on February 12, 2022. He was born in Augusta, Georgia on May 24, 1984 and lived in Aiken, SC throughout his childhood. Wes graduated early from Aiken High School in 2001. Wes moved to Louisiana where he was employed by SeaTrepid and Remote Inspection Technologies as Operations Manager. He later moved to Houston, Texas to further his Robotic career. Friends will always remember Wes for his selfless, sweet personality along with his contagious smile and huge heart. He was a huge Gamecocks fan and an avid golfer. Wes excelled in everything he attempted with ease. He also accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as a teenager at a John Hagee crusade. As he got older, he loved to talk about the afterlife with his mother. Wes had no children of his own and never married, he loved his family, work, and friends. Wes is predeceased by his father, Herbert W. Kirkland and brother, Bruce M. Hewston, Jr. Survived by his mother: Karen (Chris) Engleman, Aiken SC; maternal grandmother, Marie Rhoden, Aiken SC; sister, Marsha (Brandon) Cameron, North Augusta, SC; nephew, Nathan Frommer; niece, Peyton Cameron; aunt, Tracy (Chris) Medlin, Aiken, SC; uncle, Greg Rhoden, Aiken, SC; cousins, Kristie Harley, Courtney Stallings, Abbi Medlin and a number of second cousins.
