Tony E. Carpenter

North Augusta, SC…….Mr. Tony E. Carpenter, 76, husband of 53 years to Beverly Edgin Carpenter, entered into rest on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at University Hospital.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stephen Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Masks are encouraged for both the visitation and the funeral service. 

Tony retired from Boral Brick after 26 years of service as a truck driver. He will be remembered as a hard working man who loved his family and served as a mentor to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Wild Man”, as he was affectionately known, loved karaoke, fishing, and working on cars. He was a member of Christian Heritage Church. 

Additional survivors include three daughters, Ethelyn Elaine Carpenter, of North Augusta, Melissa Payton (Virgil), of Jackson, and Tonya Carpenter Hartley, of North Augusta; his sister, Eva Burke; eight grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Tony E. Carpenter; two great grandchildren, Brayden and Paxton Williford; his brothers, Joe, S.T., Frank, Sam, Barry, and Gordon; and his sister, Nelly.

Pallbearers will be Steven Williford, Brandon Hartley, Mason Carpenter, Anthony Williford, Rainey Higginbottom, and Jerry Ford.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Heritage Church Building Fund, 285 Ascauga Lake Rd. Graniteville, SC 29829.
