Theresa "Tracey" Eileen Derryberry

Theresa "Tracey" Eileen Derryberry, 57, went home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2025. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4 at Saint Paul's Church, 605 Reynolds Street, Augusta, GA. Interment will be at Saint Paul's immediately following the service.

Tracey was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Vincent Hayes. Survivors include her husband, Zollie "Trip" Derryberry III; son, Colton Whitlock (Ally); grandson Walker Whitlock; mother, Elaine Audette Hayes; sister, Marie Neely (Mark); nephews Ross Neely and Brooks Neely; sister, Michelle Holladay; niece, Skylar Holladay; and nephew, Clayton Holladay. 

Tracey was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 4, 1967. The family moved to Vestavia, Alabama in 1978. Tracey grew up attending Vestavia public schools where she was a member of the Vestavia High School gymnastics team. 

Tracey loved all of God's creatures, great and small. She particularly loved her dogs and cats. If she found a bug or a mouse in the house, she would lovingly pick it up and gently place it outside.

Tracey had the spirit of giving in her heart. Friends and family were frequently the recipients of her gifts of flowers, food, and heartfelt cards for even the most modest occasions. 

Tracey met her husband Trip in Birmingham, Alabama. They were married in Key West, Florida in 2001, a location they visited many times during their marriage. Tracey and Trip made their home in the Evans/Martinez area. Tracey's "light will never be extinguished from our lives. She will always be a voice in our ears and a beat in our hearts."
