Sarah Katherine Davis

Sarah Katherine Davis, age 99, entered into rest on October 25, 2023. She was born in Greeneville County, SC to the late Milton and Effie Strawhorn on November 14, 1923. 

Sarah is the former owner of the North Augusta Nursery, which she ran for over thirty years. She attended Belvedere First Baptist, where she taught Sunday school for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club. Sarah was an active woman. She loved to dance at Mr. K’s, and, from the day it opened, she exercised every day at Riverview Park for over twenty years.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton E. Davis; a son, Earl Davis; and five siblings: James, Tom, Margaret, Ida Mae, and Myra. 

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Joanne Abernathy; her grandchildren, Brian Davis (Carla), Valerie Davis Prescott, Kathy Harrison (Gary), Dana Simpson (Tim), Ben Abernathy (Nicky); her great-grandchildren, Haley, Carli, Davis, Brianna, Dalton, Blake, Ty, Chase, Cody, and Duane; and her great-great-grandchildren, Micheal, Kiley, Jaelyn, Kayden, Arya, and Adler. 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 29 at 11:00 AM in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Brian Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for half an hour prior to the service, from 10:30-11:00 AM. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens will follow.
