Belvedere, SC……. Robert Jackson Story entered into rest on August 14, 2024 at the age of 71.
He was born January 8, 1953 in Augusta, GA and was a lifelong resident of the CSRA.
He worked at Speedy Printing for 25 years; at Big Star Grocery for 12 years, where he developed long-lasting friendships; and as a parts specialist at Milton Ruben for 8 years. He loved motorcycles and automobiles, so much so that he lost count of the number he owned.
The church was Robert’s haven. He was a dedicated and ever-present member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he was a loyal chef for weekly breakfast gatherings. A faithful and giving servant, Robert was first to prepare the church for early morning Bible studies, and always made sure his friends in the church office had their favorite donuts. He enjoyed reading, his favorite book being the Bible. He’d read it countless times, from beginning to end, studying it all along the way.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Jean Story.
He is survived by a daughters, Robyn Wetherhorn; a sister, Betty Smith; a nephew, Chuck Ashley; and two nieces, Tiffany McCallum and Maggie Thompson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Walton Way in Augusta, GA, Pastor Joe Bowden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to Church of The Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
