Robert Lang Obituary

Evans, GA……Mr. Robert G. Lang, 90, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 15, 2021 at University Hospital.

Bob was born in Waycross, GA. He received a scholarship in football and went to the University of Oklahoma to join his brother. After two years, he joined the US Air Force and spent the majority of his service stationed in Germany. He returned home to Atlanta and finished his education at Georgia State College with a BBA in Management. Bob worked for Southern Railway, Tranco Inc., TTX Acorn, and finally TTX Hamburg, where he retired as General Manager in 1992. 

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Amy; his step-sons, Jimmy Arblaster and Tommy Lang; his parents, Virginia and Nolan Lang; his sister, Wanda Adams; and his brother, Nolan Lang, III.

He is survived by several nephews; his sister in law, Martha Johnson; and his companion and caregiver, Hazel Hawkins. 

A special thanks to all the caregivers that Bob had over the last 4 years that were provided by Tina White and “A Heart That Cares”.

His memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 17, 2021 in North Augusta Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Visitation will follow at the church. Those in attendance are requested to wear a mask. 

Memorials may be made to North Augusta Southern Methodist Church, 615 W. Martintown Rd. North Augusta, SC 29841.
