North Augusta, SC…...Mr. Paul Gibson Mallory, Jr., husband of Ellen M. Mallory, entered into rest on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his residence.
His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas B. Wilkes, III and Dr. T. Joseph Lusk officiating. Veteran’s Honors will be accorded following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family requests that masks be worn for the visitation and memorial service. Mr. Mallory was a native of Savannah, GA and lived in Atlanta and at Lake Sinclair in Eatonton, GA before making North Augusta his home in 1997. He was drafted into the US Army where he served in the Atlantic Theater during World War II. Following his service in the Army, he continued to serve in the National Guard with the 118th Field Auxiliary in Savannah. He spent his career as a packaging engineer and salesman with Union Camp Paper Company. Following his retirement, he remained busy, working with the US Postal Service and Groves Nursery. He was an active member of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club, where he held leadership positions with both organizations. He was able to fix everything that was broken and could build anything. He was devoted to his family, most especially his wife of nearly 72 years, Ellen.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Polly M. Hargrove; his grandchildren, Travis Hargrove (Heather), Ashley Bean (Uriah), Sam Mallory, and James Mallory; his 7 great grandchildren, all of whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; his beloved son and son-in-law, Paul “Buster” Mallory and Rick Hargrove.
