North Augusta, SC…….Ms. Nancy Pfennig James, 82, wife of the late Marvin “Jesse” James, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at AU Medical Center.
Private family services will be held.
A native of Buffalo, NY, Nancy made North Augusta her home in 1972. She graduated from Kenmore West High school and continued her education at USC Aiken, earning a degree in psychology. She married Jesse in 1983 and they moved to Charleston for a period of time before returning to North Augusta to be near family. She retired from a successful career as an outside salesperson, and later a trainer for the Cameron and Barkley Company where she won many awards. She attended True North Church. She loved gardening, animals, camping, and traveling. Her laughter was infectious and constant. An excellent pianist, Nancy enjoyed playing a variety of classical pieces. She was kind, generous, and had a deep love for her family and friends. A loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James; parents, Leo and Helen Oscar. She is survived by her children, Joyce Pfennig (Paul Freedman), Larry Pfennig (Renee), and Julie Pfennig LaFon Canipe (Harold); her sisters, Cathy Ann Smith and Pam Adams; seven grandchildren, Jesse Crandell, Emma Ratajczak, Wesley Edenfield, Tiffany Hooker, Katie Pfennig, Cassie Pfennig, and Colton LaFon; five great grandchildren, Eve Ratajczak, Landon Hooker, Marianne Hooker, Lily Edenfield, and Laci Edenfield.
