Michael McDaniel Obituary

Beech Island, SC…...Mr. Michael McDaniel, 71, husband of Diana McDaniel, entered into rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island with Pastor Greg Williams officiating. Interment with Veterans Honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be members of the Marine Corps League, Detachment #1132, Riverfront Marines.

Mr. McDaniel was an active member of Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island where he was a member of the media team. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps where he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the Viet Nam War. Following his military service, Mike was active in the Marine Corps League until his health would no longer allow him to be.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his son, Lee McDaniel; his daughter, DeAnna McDaniel; his mother, Elaine McDaniel; four step-daughters, Melanie Purvis, Melinda Purvis, Melissa Usry, and Michelle Purvis; his brother, Nuel McDaniel; his sister, Kelleen Thomas; five grandchildren, Aliece, Tripp, J.C., Victoria and Samuel; ten step-grandchildren, Justen, Mandee, Hailey, Olivia, Ariana, P.J, Evan, Destiny, Mariah, and Lexi; one great grandson, Connor Humphrey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin W. McDaniel, Jr., his daughter, Peggy McDaniel and his brother, Dennis McDaniel.
