Melissa Lynn Carmichael Pratt Obituary
Augusta, GA.......Melissa Lynn Carmichael Pratt, 55, passed into eternity with her Lord Jesus on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Piedmont Augusta.
A native of West Virginia, in 1984 she was named Hometown Beauty Queen of Doddridge County. Melissa loved to laugh and brought a smile to everyone she met. She loved people, landscaping, flowers, plants, thrifting, and buying and selling antiques. Her children and grandchild were her world and she adored them. She always went all out for parties and special occasions. Melissa homeschooled her children and was always cheering them on. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter through her years of dance. A loving soul and a giving heart, she worked with many organizations through the years but her biggest passion was animals. She adored cats and worked tirelessly to rescue and bring awareness to TNR programs in our area. She never met a stranger. Her sense of empathy led her to reach out to those that others would have passed by. She was a very giving soul and would do without if it meant meeting a need for another.
Left to cherish her memory are her children and their partners: Mike Pratt and his fiance Helen, Emily Pratt and her significant other Joseph, Nicholas Pratt and his significant other Mickala; one grandchild, Khosi Pearl Weaver; her sister Velma “Jo” Cornelius; her brother Brian Carmichael; and her adventure partner and companion, Cathy Weeks; as well as a house full of beloved pets, and a long list of friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, William "Willie" Carmichael.
If anyone ever said “Life’s not fair,” her response would always be the same: “Fair? A fair is where you go to ride rides and eat cotton candy.”
Memorial donations may be made to Rowland-Ford Funeral Home to assist in her funeral expenses.
