Melissa Richelle Coogler

Aiken, SC…….Melissa R. Coogler, 42, wife of Christopher Coogler, entered into rest on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at her residence. 

There will be a gathering of friends and family at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. 

Melissa was an incredibly kind, loving, and talented woman. She loved her family and was constantly planning trips and vacations, seemingly always trying to convince the family to pack up and go. Disney and the beach were her two primary destinations. When she wasn’t traveling, or trying to convince someone to travel, she filled her time and used her creativity to design and cut vinyl for projects of all kinds. All holidays brought her great joy but the fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas were her most favorite and she would go all out decorating not only her house but her husband, children, and dogs as well. She spent the last several years serving as a reading interventionist at East Aiken Elementary School where she was well loved by her students, colleagues, and parents. 

Left to cherish her memory in addition to her husband are her sons, Camden Coogler and Carter Coogler, her mother and stepfather Karen and Randy Haskins; her father, Kenneth Cochran; her brothers, Joshua Haskins and Randy Haskins, Jr.; her grandmother, Jean O’Hara; her aunts, Julie Grant, Elaine Ergle, and Diane Caudill (Richie); her cousins, Kristen Smith, Kelly Whitaker, and Bryan Ergle; her father in law, Calvin Coogler (Debbie); her mother in law, Brenda Coogler; her brother in law, Paul Coogler; her sister in law Kristyn Sharpton (Robert); a number of nieces and nephews; and her cherished Boston terrier, Violet, and Frenchie, Gus.
