Maude "Marie" Rhoden Obituary

Aiken, SC.......Maude “Marie” Rhoden, 86, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 in her home in Aiken, SC.

Born in Oak Park, Georgia, Marie was the daughter of Sam and Willie Mae Wheeler. Marie was one of eight children, all of whom preceded her in death, as well as two grandchildren, Bruce and Wes. She moved to Aiken, SC as a pre-teen and played the guitar and sang on the Peach Blossom Special Show in Augusta, GA. Marie loved to sing and dance with her children and grands, but her greatest love was her savior, Jesus Christ. She was known for always praising Jesus and telling people about Him. Marie loved to challenge her knowledge by watching game shows and seeing the crazy answers the contestants would give. Marie retired from Pepperidge Farm as a floor supervisor. She was also known by her family as a strong woman, hard worker, wonderful cook, and was always the caregiver for many family members and friends. She loved her family dearly.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thomas Wayne Rhoden. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Engleman and Tracy Medlin (Chris), her son Greg Rhoden, grandchildren Marsha, Kristie, Courtney, and Abbi, great-grandchildren Nathan, Peyton, Emelia, Bristol, Asher, Ezra, Lainey, Roran, and Dresden, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on September 6, 2024 at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with the service to begin at 12:30 PM, Pastor Chris Medlin officiating. A private interment for family will follow the service.
