Martha McCorkle Lewis

North Augusta, SC…………..Mrs. Martha McCorkle Lewis, 95, wife of the late Lawrence Quineth Lewis, Sr., entered into rest on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at her residence.

Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Christmas officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 until 4:00 PM. A native of Wrightsboro, GA, Mrs. Lewis had made North Augusta her home since 1971. She spent a brief time working at Walden Hall School in the cafeteria before pursuing her true passion, caring for children. She established and ran a daycare center in her home for more than 20 years. A true prayer warrior, she could often be found praying for those that she knew but also those that she didn’t. Caring for children and her family was her main focus in life and she made sure it was done well.

She was preceded in death by a son, Quineth Leon Lewis and a daughter, Carolyn Lester.

Survivors include a son, Lawrence Quineth Lewis, Jr.; two daughters, Martha Lenona Lewis and Rachel Rowland; a sister Jane Chalker; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Melisha Frazier and Sherry Martin for their help, encouragement and care of Mrs. Lewis.
