Margie Sharpe McIntyre

North Augusta, SC…..Mrs. Margie Sharpe McIntyre entered into rest at her home on May 3, 2025 at the age of 77.

A funeral service honoring Margie’s life will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at J. M. Ford Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment at Westover Memorial Park will follow.

Margie was born on June 26, 1947 in Cartersville, GA to the late Carl Lee Sharpe and Margaret Stegall Sharpe. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville for many years, and, after moving to the area, became a member of Victory Baptist Church North Augusta. She worked for many years as a legal secretary for David Bell Law Firm and Tom Young of Young & Thurmond.

Margie was involved in her community and stayed active through the Silver Sneakers program. She was a wonderful homemaker, and a phenomenal cook and baker. She always had some homemade baked goods around the house. Even on family camping trips, she could be found in the camper baking a cake. Her grandchildren will miss her famous pound cake that was sure to fix any problem.

She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She was crafty and was a gifted quilter who hand-sewed many beautiful pieces. She loved her grandchildren and especially enjoyed making memories with them on their yearly trips to Hilton Head. Margie loved hanging out with her women’s group and she cherished their friendships.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Lynn Sharpe.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Berry McIntyre III; by her son, Richard Brian Scott (Cheryl); by her daughter, Jo El Doolittle (Adam) and their daughters Elizabeth Rittwage (James) and their daughter--Margie’s great-granddaughter Sage, Savannah Smith, Addison Doolittle, and Calleigh Doolittle; by her step-children Berry McIntyre IV; Laura Vintson (Chris); and Erin Babcock; by her brother Tim Sharpe (Cathy); and by her sisters, Suzette Gordon (Lloyd) and Malinda “Mindy” Sharpe.
