North Augusta, SC......Margie L. Burgess, daughter of the late John Richard Snider, Sr. and Florie Powell, was born on November 5, 1933 in Clinton, SC. She went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2023.
She was the beloved wife and best friend of her husband, Calvin Leroy Burgess, Sr, for 55 years. She was a resident of Edgefield County for 39 years. She was a loving, devoted nurse for 39 years, and had a heart of love and compassion. She retired from Carolina Heart and Vascular Center in 2016.
Margie was a faithful member of Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church, Warrenville, SC. She loved the Lord, her church, and her family, and was a devoted wife and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Leroy Burgess, Sr., and by their daughter, Debra Burgess Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are: sons Calvin L. (Michelle) Burgess, Jr. of Trenton, SC, and Wayne (Vickie) Burgess of Laurens, SC; daughters Cynthia Burgess of North Augusta, SC; Jackie Bruce of Edgefield, SC; Nancy (Al,, Sr.) Wooden of North Augusta, SC; and Jewel Fowler of Greer, SC; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Gwen Riddle; Faye Ebert; and Gloria Kinard; brothers George Snider and Charlie Snider; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and sorrowing friends.
Homegoing services will be conducted on Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 PM at Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Bill Branch officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church. Burial at Pineview Memorial Gardens will follow. Rowland-Ford Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
