Maddie R. Duke

Maddie R. Duke died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 99 at NHC North Augusta on February 20, 2025.

Maddie was born in Hanover, Germany in 1925 and moved to the States after marrying E. W. "Pete" Duke in 1948. They were longtime residents of Aiken, SC until Pete's death in 2006. Maddie then moved to Florida for 10 years until becoming a resident of NHC in North Augusta. She loved playing bridge in her free time.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, E. W. "Pete" Duke and by their son, Patrick Duke.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Manley Duke (Debi), Pete Duke, and Brigitta Cockrell (Gerald); her grandchildren, who knew her as Omie: Daryl Cockrell (Tammie), Mike Cockrell (Brenda), Jenny Franklin (Gaston), Erin Thacker (Charlie), Maddie Reigle (Henry); and by her great-grandchildren, Caroline Creech (Will), Jessica Cockrell, Carson Cockrell (Autumn), Madison Cockrell, Hunter Franklin, Cooper Franklin, Landon Thacker, Lily Thacker, and Logan Thacker.

A graveside service for family will be held at Graniteville Cemetery on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
