Aiken, SC…...Mr. Mack W. Campbell, 78, husband of 55 years to Montie Nave Campbell, entered into rest on Friday, January 22, 2021 at University Hospital.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment with Veterans Honors will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time. Born in Joanna, SC, January 31, 1942 to the late Colie James and Vadie Russell Campbell, Mack was a veteran of the US Army and he loved the Lord. He had been an active member of Curtis Baptist Church since 1975 serving in various ministry leadership roles. He was a generous and hard working man that loved his family. His talent for encouragement and constant smile ensured that he never met a stranger and those he met were better for knowing him. Mack was an avid reader, historian, and genealogist. He passed his love for genealogy on to his grandchildren.
Additional survivors include his son, James Edward “Jim” Campbell (Ashley Smith Willis); his daughter, Karen Buchholz Derrick (Greg); his daughter in law, Allyson Campbell; His grandchildren, Russell Buchholz (Cassidy), Stuart Campbell, Matthew Campbell, and Mitchell Derrick; his great grandchildren, Lacie Kay Buchholz and Brantley Buchholz. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Florella Dixon, Mary Shealy, and Jewel Blackwell.
