Lois Beasley Powell

North Augusta, SC.....Mrs. Mary Lois Beasley Powell, 96, wife of the late Louis Patrick Powell, Sr., entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, December 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and caretakers.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. 

Mary Lois was born in Kibbie, GA and was a native of Treutlen County, GA, but lived in Aiken and North Augusta, SC for over 70 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta and a member of the Widows and Widowers Club. She loved her Lord with all her heart and soul. Even in her last days she was able to recite John 14:1-4. She retired from DuPont and Westinghouse Savannah River Site after 43 years of service. Her greatest love was cooking for, and spending time with, her family. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, collecting antiques, and dancing. She will be dearly missed by all who love her. She never met a stranger and always had an infectious smile on her face.

Mary Lois was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Charles Thomas Beasley; her mother, Mrs. Stella Adams Beasley; her husband, Mr. Lewis Patrick Powell, Sr.; her son, Mr. Louis Patrick Powell, Jr.; her grandson, Nicholas "Nick" Patrick Melton; her sisters, Mrs. Charlie Mae Grainger, Mrs. Jeanette Johnson, and Mrs. Peggy Braswell. 

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Sharon Powell Melton (Mark) and Ms. Lisa Ann Powell; her granddaughter, Mrs. Olivia Lauren Melton Hardy (Brandon); her grandson, Mr. Britt Patrick Powell; and many loving nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and gratefulness to the many nurses, doctors, and caretakers that adorned her with so much love and care.
