Lauren Beth Hagood Brown "Susie" passed away on August 7, 2023 at her residence in North Augusta, South Carolina after a brief illness. She was born on November 2, 1944 in Laurium, Michigan and grew up in the Chatanooga area. She graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School and received her BA from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM.
Lauren was driven to succeed and was very goal oriented. Prior to her retirement, she served 20 years as an IT specialist civilian contractor with the Army and Air Force. She excelled at every assignment stateside and abroad. As a world traveler, she loved collecting antiques in foreign markets and visiting famous landmarks. She always dressed for success and was a talented artist, singer and seamstress. She was an avid animal advocate and loved her pets.
She was predeceased by her parents Maxine Fontaine and Kenneth Hagood. Lauren is survived by her five children: Deavon Diprima of Florida, Henry Leo "Trey" Brown III (Stephanie) of South Carolina, Patrick Brown (Tamara) of Germany, and Laurie and Regan Brown of New Jersey; grandchildren Alexia Newberry (Nathaniel), Olivia Marston (Adam), Sophia Schoen, Hayden Brown, Jackson Brown, Brooklyn Brown, Logan Brown, and Aimee Huayhuaya; great-grandchildren Emme Sue Newberry, Beau Newberry, Wyatt Newberry, and Nevaeh Martson; and her sister, Kathy Hagood Haynes (Jan).
