Appling, GA…….Mr. Kenneth Allen Wilson, 65, beloved husband of 45 years to Christi Webb Wilson, entered into rest on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Sharon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A private family funeral service will be held following the visitation. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wilson, a lifelong resident of Columbia County, was born in Athens, GA to the late Thomas Jack and Mary Wiloese Wilson. He was a graduate of Evans High School, Class of 1973. It was there that he met and married his true love Christi. Kenneth was known to many as Kenny, to those he loved, as “Foots” and as “Old Man” to his daughter-in-law. He retired after 45 years of faithful service from Motion Industries where he was known as the best hydraulic man in Augusta.
Those left to cherish his memory include two children, Stephanie Wilson Veneklasen (Clay) and John Nicholas Wilson (Erin Murray); four grandchildren, Jordan, Anna, Kaitlyne and Berend Veneklasen, who lovingly called him, “Papa”; three brothers, Tommy Wilson (Erline), Larry “Buddy” Wilson (Elaine), and Tim Wilson (Jan); two sisters, Brenda Decampli (Michael) and Peggy Stewart (Larry) as well as many nieces and nephews to whom he was known as “Uncle Foots”.
Pallbearers will be Marion Duffie, Richard Duffie, Larry Stewart, Allen Stewart, Ray Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Matt Wilson and Devon Wilson.
