“Mama Duck”, as she was affectionately known, had a 24 year career as a Registered Nurse after graduating cum laude with her degree in Forensic Psychology. During her career she was named a member of Walden University’s National Society of Leadership and Success, additionally, she was nominated as the Population Health Nurse for the IMC and gave many presentations on Managed Care. Outside of her career, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, horseback riding, watching scary movies, and pursuing her Master’s Degree.
She loved to talk to people, she loved her children and grandchildren more than anything, she touched so many lives by just talking to them and was always available to lend a ear. She was an amazing mother who gave her all to her loved ones especially her two sons. She would speak her mind in a second. She was truly one of a kind. A favorite exchange that she would share with her grandson was to call him “Bad Ole Grandson” and he would reply with “Bad Ole Granny”.
She is survived by her two sons, Kevin A. Duckworth and Richard B. Duckworth (Bella); her grandchildren, Tristan A. Duckworth and Bailey M. Duckworth; and her father, Vernon T. Davis (Juanita). She was preceded in death by her mother, Whilhelmina Davis.
