John William Hester

Mr. John William Hester, 88, entered into rest on January 3, 2022.

His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2021 in Fairview Presbyterian Church, Dr. Allen M. Thompson and Rev. Masaki Chiba officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. The members of the Barbershop Quartet will serve as honorary pallbearers. A time of gathering will be held in the church fellowship hall after the committal. 

John loved singing; he was a member of the Barbershop Quartet for forty years, and a longtime participant in his church choir. He loved country music, especially the group Alabama. He enjoyed watching football and was an Atlanta Falcons fan. He spent 21 years as a Merchandiser for Frito-Lay and spent 6 years selling life insurance in Illinois. For the last twenty years, John worked for Publix and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He spent time each morning reading his Bible.

Mr. Hester was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Alice. He is survived by his son, James Guy Hester (Debra); his daughters, Linda May Barron (Leo) and Anne Marie Reider (Mike); his niece, Connie Pollack (Alan); his grandchildren, Carolyn Amber Griffin, Jessica Turner, and Kirsten Eileen Barron; and one great-grandson, Charles Asher Martin.
