John Edward Fisher

North Augusta, SC...... Senior Chief Petty Officer John Edward Fisher, US Navy (Ret.), 66, entered into rest at his residence on September 4, 2024.

John was born December 17, 1956 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Robert E. and Eileene J. Fisher. When he was two months old, his family moved to Boulder, CO. There, John went through school, graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Land Management and another Bachelor’s in Geology.

Carrying the family’s tradition of service, John joined the US Navy in September 1985 and trained as an intelligence interpreter. He served in the Navy for 25 years, serving many times in the Persian Gulf, and achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer prior to his retirement in September 2011. During his time in the Navy, John earned his Master’s degree in intelligence linguistics. After his retirement, John continued his career in intelligence for the United States for a private contractor.

He is survived by his brother, Tom Fisher of Colorado, some close friends, and his beloved dogs.
