Jerry Counsell

North Augusta, SC…….Mr. Clarence Gerald “Jerry” Counsell, 85, entered into rest on Friday, January 21, 2022 at University Hospital. 

His family will receive friends at Parkway Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Private family services will be held at a later date. 

Jerry was a proud veteran of the US Army and worked in the car business in Augusta, spending many years at Bob Beard Ford. He then went on to serve as a Security Officer with the Richmond County Marshal’s Office. Jerry never met a stranger, and enjoyed life. He liked to laugh and joke more than anyone. His goal was to keep everyone in the room laughing. His family and his Yorkies, Sophie and Cuddles, were his love. Over the last 20 years the highlight of Jerry’s week would be Wednesday night supper with the Boys Night Out. He treasured the friendships of the group and will be sorely missed, not just on Wednesdays but every day. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Ben Kevin Counsell; and his grandson, Dayton Counsell.

He is survived by his son, Wesley Counsell (Rebecca); his daughter in law, Lisa Counsell; his brothers, Richard Counsell and James Counsell; his grandchildren, John Wayne Counsell, Belinda Counsell, Buck Counsell, and Londyn Counsell. 

Members of the Boys Night Out will serve as honorary pallbearers.
