James Sheehan Obituary

James Ferry “Jimmy” Sheehan, 81, entered into rest at his home on February 11, 2024. He was born June 17, 1942 in Augusta, Georgia to the late William and Edrie Sheehan.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Brenda “Rose” Sheehan; daughter, Kathleen Sheehan; granddaughter, Delilah Sheehan; brother, Patrick Sheehan and wife, Betty; brother, Francis “Booger” Sheehan and wife, Catherine Ann; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Fr. Michael Sheehan and William “Brother” Sheehan.

Jimmy graduated from Aquinas High School, where he played on the football team all four years. He was also named the Georgia State Jr Skeet champion.

Throughout his life, he had a successful career in the liquor business. He owned and managed Walton Way Wine and Spirits for over 40 years before retiring. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, completing hunts across Georgia, Texas, Argentina, and more; and fishing, whether on Clark’s Hill or Edisto Beach.

To abide by his wishes, a funeral service will not be held. The family intends to hold a Celebration of Life in the coming months and will reach out to friends and loved ones with more details as they are available.

Donations in Jimmy’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
