James Franklin Ansley, Sr. 77, of Augusta, GA, son of the late James S. and Frances W. Ansley entered into rest on October 25th, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia S. Ansley; son James F. Ansley, Jr. (Rhonda) of North Augusta, SC; daughters, Donna Ansley of Langley, SC and Rebecca Ward (Damon) of Belvedere, SC; brother, Edward Ansley of Columbia, SC; sisters, Martha Sue and Janette Reese; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
James joined the IBEW Local 1579 on June 26th, 1969 and was with Ansley Electric for fifty-one years. He also ran the Wagon Wheel, a local bar in North Augusta for 28 years.
James was the most honest, caring, and forgiving person. He loved the river and boating, even though he could not swim, he still adored having the fastest boat on the water. For 28 years, James made as many as five trips a summer down to Savannah with his boat.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Susan Johnson for all of her assistance through the course of James’ sickness. James’ daughter Donna was also a caregiver to him and is greatly appreciated for everything she did. Also, a thank you to Tammi and Rachel with A Heart That Cares for all their help.
A Celebration of James’ Life will take place at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Thursday June 24th, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
