Hillary Javonia Dunbar Bryant, was a loving Wife, Sister, Daughter, Granddaughter, Aunt, Niece, Godmother, and Friend. She left this world suddenly on June 12, 2023.
Hillary was born to Russell and Javonia Dunbar on May 2, 1993. Hillary spent her youth years dancing, playing softball, volunteer coaching, and participating on North Augusta High school Color-guard. When Hillary wasn’t engaging in an activity, she was playing second mom, Cosmetologist, Nail Tech, and MUA with her siblings. She was always the go to person for her sisters when they wanted to be dolled up. After graduating from North Augusta High School, she pursued her bachelor’s degree in History at Lander University. Hillary then pursued different career paths and found an interest in Ophthalmology. Hillary was an amazing auntie and loved her nephew with all her heart and he loved his “Sissy.” Later in life she married David Bryant in February 2022. During their short marriage, David and Hillary didn’t share any children-however she was the step mom to Hunter Bryant, whom she adored.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Dwight D. Bryant, Beech Island, SC; son Hunter K. Bryant, Walhalla, SC; parents Russell and Javonia Dunbar, Belvedere, SC; three sisters Haley (Blair) Green, Marietta, GA, Heather (Damon) Diaz, Summerville, SC; Hope Dunbar, Belvedere, SC; a nephew Bryson A. Green, Marietta, GA; two grandmother’s Sally M. Mangual, Martinez, GA, Louise Johnson, Warrenville, SC; two aunts Patricia D. Johnson, North Augusta, SC, Scherrie L. Johnson, Hollywood, CA; three uncles Jonathan Dunbar, Missoula MT; Kevin Johnson, North Augusta, SC, Tommie L, (Diane) Taylor, North Augusta, SC. Best friend Jasmine Butler, and Goddaughter Cadence Althoff, Summerville SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is joined with the following family members in Heaven three grandfathers Rigoberto Mangual (Papa), Jessie P. Johnson, Sr. (Papa Ant), and John H. (Effie) Taylor, Sr.; four uncles Jessie P. (Linda) Johnson, Jr., John H. Taylor, Jr., Larry Johnson, and Lester Donnie Johnson.
A memorial service honoring Hillary’s life will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.W. Broadwater officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning one hour prior to the service.
