Edgefield, SC......Mr. Henry Malcolm "Buck" Tyler, age 83, entered into rest at his residence on January 28, 2024.
He was born on September 11, 1940 to the late Wyman and Elizabeth Tyler. A North Augusta native, Buck graduated from North Augusta High School where he lettered in baseball. He then entered the workforce as a cameraman at WJBF Television before turning one of his life’s passions into a successful business.
Buck started his taxidermy career in North Augusta. In 1982, he moved to Edgefield County where he continued to run Buck Tyler Taxidermy until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was also a longtime charter member of Swamp & Hill Hunting Club.
Buck also loved spending time with friends and family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Ellen Keane Tyler; two daughters, Beth T. Reynolds and Terri T. Mayson (Bruce); his grandchildren, Aubrey Shields, Noelle Booth (Dan), Sarah Mayson, and Tyler Mayson (Mary Anna); his great-grandchildren, Caroline and Zane Shields, Tinsley and McKinley Booth, Brenden Mayson and Stetson Mayson; a sister, Sonia Tyler Harper; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Baston Tyler; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton Wyman Tyler Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Walter R. “Dick” Harper.
A memorial service will be held in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 30 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends following the service.
