Lena was a beautician for over forty years, working out of the “beauty shop” in her back yard that Raymond built. She and her “ladies” would solve all of the world’s problems, while being combed out or getting a perm. She was a strong and resilient woman, deeply devoted to her family and flower garden. Lena was a devoted wife, attentive mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched countless lives and had many skills, including cow counting, whipping up a meal from scratch “just for you,” meticulous dorm room inspections, and canning homemade jam and apple butter. Lena was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Lena’s family extends a special thanks to:
Pruitt Health Hospice (especially Kristen, Robin, Tanner, Josh, Grace, and Linda)
All caregivers that cared for Lena (especially Doris, Shirley, Regina, Teresa, Connie, and Angela)
There will be a celebration of Lena’s life at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on March 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
