Aiken, SC....... Gloria Mayson Bussey entered into rest on June 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Gloria resided in Aiken SC for the last several months. She was born in Augusta, GA and raised in North Augusta, SC, where she spent most of her life. She also lived for a number of years in the North Myrtle Beach/Conway, SC area.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie F. Mayson and Helen B. Mayson; her husband of 35 years, Ralph C. Bussey; as well as by several beloved pets. She spent her career as a legal secretary in North Augusta, SC, North Myrtle Beach, SC and Conway, SC. Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta and prior member of First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, SC. A loving wife, stepmom, sister and aunt, all those who knew her referred to her as “Glo” or “Granny”. Gloria was devoted to her family, friends and loved her church families. She always had a smile and a warm word of encouragement. Everyone she met said of her that she was the
sweetest lady.
Gloria is survived by her brother, Earl Mayson; nephew Christian (Frances) Gigis; great nephew Christian Gigis II; great nieces Marissa and Gabriella Gigis. She is also survived by her stepchildren Renate (Tyler) Grose and Kevin R. Bussey; one grandchild, Brandon (Tucker) Grose; and great-grandchild Charleston Tyler Grose.
A funeral service will be held on June 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the J. M. Ford Funeral Chapel, Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment at Sunset Hill will follow.
