George J. Williams

George J. Williams was born on February 16, 1936 in Bronx, NY. He died peacefully at his home of 39 years in North Augusta, SC on Saturday, April 9, 2022.

Affectionately known as ‘Papa’, George is survived by his wife of 61 years (4/23/60) Eileen, 3 children Shannon Williams, Lynn Klein (Robert) and Kristin Crenshaw (Ashley), 3 grandchildren Christina, Carson and Emma Kate, 2 great grandchildren Aslynn & Carlyle and a beloved grand dog, Teddy.

He retired after working for 51 years for the Lily-Tulip Cup Co. where he was a Warehouse Manager. George is best described as Kind, Patient and Amusing…a most likable fellow. He was also an avid sports fan of all professional sports, but especially of Major League Baseball. He was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants (formerly NY Giants 1958), but was also a dedicated fan of the World Series Champions, the Atlanta Braves.

A memorial service will be held for him in New York later this summer.
