Frank Leonard Givens

North Augusta, SC……. Frank Leonard Givens entered into rest on October 29, 2024 at the age of 91.

He was born on June 7, 1933 in Berwind, WV to the late Frank Johnson Givens and Thelma Robinson Givens.

After graduating high school, Frank went to Washington, SC to work for the FBI. He later moved to North Augusta to work for Dupont (later SRS), where he worked for over 40 years.

Frank was a member of Toastmasters, the Optimist Club, and the North Augusta Country Club. He was an avid golfer. He coached boys’ football, basketball, and baseball, and girls’ basketball and softball for decades. He was a very active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Augusta.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Jean Givens; his daughter, Kathleen Givens Fickling and her husband Leslie Thomas Fickling III; his granddaughters Caroline Chapman Fickling and Leslie Madison Fickling; and his nieces, Doree Rice and Jenna Schiesser. Their shared sentiment is: “We will love and miss you!” The family would also like to give their thanks to Frank’s caregiver, Ricky Greene.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Augusta, Father Eric Biddy and Mother Kimberly Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
