North Augusta, SC……..Mr. Wayne Rogers, husband of Angie Rogers, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at his residence.
Private family services will be held.
Mr. Rogers was a native of East Point, GA, having made North Augusta his home since 1968. His career in municipal administration spanned many decades. He was the first planning and zoning director for the city of North Augusta, assisted in the development of Port Royal in downtown Augusta, and retired as the executive director of the Lower Savannah Council of Governments. He will be remembered as a dreamer trapped in an administrators body. His creativity brought fresh perspective to each project he was involved in. His creativity was well showcased in his carvings. His ornate and incredibly detailed wooden creations were sought after at any craft show that he took them to. Mr. Rogers loved to read and spend time with his family and friends, particularly his best friend and favorite four-legged son, “Charlie”.
Additional survivors include his sons, Christopher “Kit” Rogers (Florina), and David Benjamin Hall; his sister, Debra Paradice (Philip); and his grandchildren, Valentin “Vali” Rogers and Anna Kathryn Michaels.
Memorials may be made to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, 3310 Commerce Drive
