Edna Dolores (Hoover) Story

Augusta, GA....... Mrs. Edna Dolores Story entered into rest on September 7, 2025 at the age of 93.

Dolores was born on January 14, 1932 to the late Christian Lawton and Ruby Davis Hoover. She graduated from Richmond Academy in 1951. In 1954, she married Chester Owen Story. 

Dolores worked at Wal-Mart for over twenty years. She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church, their Happy 39’ers Club, and their Seekers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Rowdy Red Hatters Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting pictures and spending time with her family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Story; her brother, Christian Lawton Hoover, Jr.; and by a grandson, Anthony Chester Guy. 

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Story (Janet); daughter, Crystal Phillips (Denny); and grandchildren, Allison Story, Jessica Story Denison (Joe), Ariel Phillips Hines (Alan), and Ryan Phillips. 

Dolores’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 2:00 PM in the J. M. Ford Funeral Chapel, Dr. Mark Sterling officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment at Westover Memorial Park will follow.
