Dorothy C. Boswell

North Augusta, SC……...Mrs. Dorothy C. Boswell, 90, wife of the late Robert D. Boswell, entered into rest on Monday, July 20, 2020 at her residence. 

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Bruton officiating. Masking and social distancing will be encouraged. A private family interment will follow the service. 

Mrs. Boswell was a lifelong resident of North Augusta and a long time member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church where she loved working in the kitchen. She loved to cook and was particularly busy around Christmas, filling orders for her famous fruitcakes. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, she enjoyed flowers, shopping at Belk, and teaching piano. She was proud of the fact that she taught for over 10 years. 

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie L. Boswell and Linda B. McElmurray (Furman); a brother, Marvin Cox, Jr. (Sharon); a sister, Sharon Harley (Johnny); two grandchildren, Furman McElmurray, Jr. and Lauren McElmurray Presley (Jason); and two great grandchildren, Klaire Nicole Presley and Guy Wyatt Presley. 

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mrs. Boswell’s caregivers, Jean, Gerri, and Brenda as well as the staff of Encompass Hospice, Tori, Theresa, Linda, and Matthew.

The family requests that memorials be made to Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, 1850 W. Martintown Rd. North Augusta, SC 29860.
