Obituary

Saluda, SC............Delmus Richard Hilburn, 85, entered into rest at his residence at Lake Murray on March 9, 2022. 

He spent most of his life in the CSRA and worked for 35 years at the Graniteville Mill as a textile supervisor. The last 20 years of his life were spent at Lake Murray. He was a retired veteran of the US Army Reserve, and a member of the American Legion. His memory would be incomplete without mentioning “Old Red,” the truck he lovingly restored.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Delmus was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer McCombs.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Denise McBride (Keith), Donna Hyatt, and Teresa Channell (Howard Jr.); grandchildren Jason McCombs, Jessica Alva, Joey Beasley, Howard Channell III, Ashley Hyatt, and Megan Channell; and great-grandchildren Tyler Byce, Kira Byce, Lita Byce, Michael McCombs, Clay Beasley, Mason Alva, Colby Alva, and Brooklyn Alva. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA.
