Born in Augusta, GA, he was the only son of three children to Azalee and the late David P. Linyard Jr. David played Dixie Youth baseball and was a member of the marching band. He graduated from North Augusta High School in 1978. He then attended Aiken Technical College where he earned a certificate in automotive technology. Upon his graduation, he spent most of his adult life as a parts salesman throughout the CSRA. Playing golf and spending time with his son and friends was one of his greatest joys. His attendance of The Masters was a yearly tradition. He loved a good cigar, working on and riding motorcycles, spending time at the lake and the beach, and keeping people laughing with his jokes. If you needed to find him in the mornings, you didn’t have to look any further than Gary’s or Waffle House. He will be remembered as a good man who loved his family and friends, always willing to do anything to help someone.
Survivors include his son, David P. Linyard, IV (Chelsea); his daughter, Meghan Linyard; his mother, Azalee Linyard; his granddaughter, Palmer Rose Linyard, who he loved playing and spending time with; his sisters, Pam Lesesne (Frank) and Camilla Haigler (Mark); a special aunt, Marie Blount; one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, David P. Linyard, Jr. and a nephew, Alex Haigler.
