Cynthia Delilah Long Roberts, age 79, entered into rest on May 26, 2022.
Cynthia was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 20, 1942 to the late Gladys E. Long and William A. “Steely” Long Sr.
Cynthia will be fondly remembered for her amazing cooking, and for giving her opinion. She enjoyed talking with her friends and shopping, particularly for jewelry and purses. Cynthia retired from SRS after many years of service in the clerical department. Her greatest joy came from raising and spending time with her three boys.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. “Chic” Roberts; sons Thomas E. Roberts Jr., Christopher D. Roberts, her brother, Al Long (Vicki); and by her sister, Patsy Long.
She is survived by her sons, William Craig Roberts and Benjamin “Chett” Roberts (Tiffany); her grandson, Benjamin “Chandler” Roberts; her brother, Joe Long (Martha); her sister, Mary Whatley (Robert); nieces Tracey Guerry (Guy) and JoAshley Jordan (Ryght); nephews Rob Whatley (Tonya) and William A. Long III (Michelle); great-nieces and nephews Kristin Chaplin, Kara Cumbee, Kindall Guerry, William Jordan, Hudson Jordan, Sarah Whatley, Jacob Whatley, and Anna Kate Whatley, Coleman Long, and CJ Long; step-daughter, Renee Spurlock; step-grandchildren Sarah Reville, Samantha Reville, and Roger Reville; and by her beloved dog, Bentley.
The family would like to extend special thanks to friends Anice Peeler, Teresa Reynolds, Becky Gross, and Debra Dunlap. They would also like to thank the staff of Remain at Home Healthcare and Trinity Hospice for their impeccable care.
Her graveside service will be held at Pineview Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
