Clarence Alton "Al" Moyer

Mr. Clarence Alton “Al” Moyer entered into rest at his residence on November 18, 2023. 

He was born in Aiken County on July 18, 1929 to the late Heyward and Onie Moyer. After leaving the electric company when he was young, he owned a car lot business, Valentine Motors, for most of his life. Al was a well-known golfer, an avid dancer (especially waltzing), and loved good times spent with family and friends. He and his wife, Maggie, enjoyed traveling. In 1975 they began taking cruises and seeing the world together. They traveled around the entire U.S. six times in a motorhome, visiting every state. They even made it to Alaska and Hawaii twice! Al and Maggie lived on Hilton Head for many years and made many good friends and great memories there, before returning to the North Augusta area a few years ago. 

Al was preceded in death by a son, Steven Andrew Tolson; brothers, Leland (Mary) and James (Pansy) Moyer; and a sister, Kathryn Couch (Deck).   

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Magdalene Spoon Moyer; his daughter, Beverly Thompson (Ron); his son, Phillip Allen Moyer; two granddaughters, Angela Cuzmar (Jorge) and Betheny Adair (Matt); great-grandchildren, DJ, Ryan, Bryce, Emory, Everitt, Emelia; and numerous nieces and nephews.   

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 22 at 12:00 PM in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel, Elder Garn Capps officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens will follow. 

Pallbearers will be: Jorge Cuzmar, DJ Cuzmar, Ryan Cuzmar, Bryce Cuzmar, Matthew Adair, and Todd Spoon.
