Clarks Hill, SC.......Charles ‘Chip’ Frank Stocker, III was born to the late Chuck and Maureen Stocker on April 23, 1973 in Pennsylvania. He spent his childhood and adolescent years in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Georgia.
As a carpenter by trade and a philosopher by heart, Chip had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and conversations beyond the small talk.
His love for hunting and fishing far exceeded his skill in the same.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo around a fire with friends, family, and strangers (though strangers they would not remain long).
When the prince of parody felt like a song needed new lyrics, he created them on the spot. The quality of his voice was nearly always key-adjacent.
His quick wit, sense of humor, charm, and generosity earned him friends who all became like family.
He passed away peacefully in his home in Clarks Hill, SC on June 25th surrounded by close friends as music played.
Chip is survived by his brothers, Jeffery (Erica) Stocker, Adam (Itamara) Stocker; his sister Sarah (Aaron) Clements, his step-daughters Barbara (Cody) Mathis, Jessica (Christopher) Burke and was ‘Papa’ to Hayden and Ezra Burke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, close friends and his beloved dog companion, Sugar.
A celebration of Chip's life will be arranged in the near future to honor him.
In lieu of flowers, Chip requested that donations be made in his name to Cecil Herrin Men's Cancer Endowment Fund: https://www.augusta.edu/giving/cecilherringifts.php
