Billy Eugene "Gene" Walker Jr.

North Augusta, SC....... Billy Eugene “Gene” Walker, Jr., 60, entered into rest on September 15, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. 

Gene, or “Geno,” was born in Macon, GA on October 3, 1963 to Billy Eugene Walker Sr. and Barbara Ann Prestridge Walker. 

Gene worked for 35 years as an electrician and was a hardworking man. He loved Jesus and the message of grace. He was a member of Grace Fellowship in North Augusta for 24 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and listening to music. He loved watching football, especially UGA, and rarely missed watching a game. He volunteered as a coach with North Augusta Parks and Rec for 20 years. He coached all sports but loved fast-pitch softball. He was a proud patriot and loved America. 

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Walker. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy Walker; children, Brandy Perkins (Ethan), Dusty Rawlins (Kevin), Kaylee Walker, and Cody Walker; grandchildren, Ryleigh Perkins, Emma Walker, Curtis Walker, Kayte Walker, London Perkins, Abigail Jackson, Judah Perkins, Tobias Jackson, Sawyer Perkins, Liam Walker, and Rayland Walker. Gene, or PopPop to his grandchildren, will be greatly missed, but his family is comforted to know that they will be reunited in Heaven one day. 

A memorial service honoring Gene’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 20th at Grace Fellowship Church, 507 W Five Notch Rd, North Augusta. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
