North Augusta, SC…...Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” R. Scupin, 76, entered into rest on September 1, 2019 at Augusta University Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Vosseller and Rev. Scott Rourk officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Scupin was a native of North Augusta, a retired school teacher and a member of Lakemont Presbyterian Church. Throughout her teaching career she taught in private schools, Richmond and Aiken County Schools, most recently in the Special Education Department at North Augusta High School. She was a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), the Red Hat Society, Quilt Guild and volunteered with the North Augusta Christmas Tour of Homes. Becky was a woman of many gifts and virtues. She was devoted to her family and friends, endured all things and celebrated life. She was strong and independent yet totally depended on God. Her love was constant and unconditional. She was a selfless woman. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a faithful and devoted wife and is now reunited with her husband and walking with her Savior.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jochen “Joch” E. Scupin, her son, Karl E. Scupin and her parents, Caesar “Cecil” W. Rourk and Alice Baxley Rourk.
Survivors include her daughters, Karin S. O’Bryan (Michael) of North Augusta and Krista S. Wight (Sean) of Edgefield; her brothers, C. Wilson Rourk, Jr. (Kathy) of McEwen, TN and Henry B. Rourk (Jean) of Fairburn, GA; her grandchildren, Caleb J. Carter and Christopher T. Carter both of North Augusta; Brooks A. Wight and Tison P. Wight, both of Edgefield and Creighton McCorkle of North Augusta; her great granddaughter, Maggie Carter; 8 nephews, 5 nieces, 19 great nephews and nieces, 6 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren.
