Mr. Arsenio Maldonado, age 89, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest on September 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Tanama Maldonado, father, Geraldino Maldonado Gelpi, and mother, Providencia Maldonado Pagan of Guayanilla, PR, sister Iris Maldonado Pino, Antonia Maldonado Caraballo, and brother, Abrael Maldonado. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Ivis Maldonado of Aiken, SC, Yvette Quinones (Carlos) of Aiken, SC., Jessica Maldonado-Glover (Alan) of Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Caridad Quinones, Aiken, SC, Marisa Bright (LeBron), Greer, SC, Emanuel Quinones of Taylors, SC, Brandon Glover from Aiken, SC, Christian Glover
(Marie) of Springfield, Va, Carlos Quinones of Greenwood, SC, and great grandson James W. Bright of Greer, SC. Sisters - Daisy Maldonado Ortiz (Jose) of Guayanilla, PR, Mirna Maldonado Velez of Bronx, NY, Fredeswinda Maldonado Semple (Dennis) of Quakertown, PA, Brothers - Jose Maldonado (Maria) of Bushkill, PA, Jose Enrique Maldonado (Francisca) of England, AR, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico in 1932, served the U.S. Army from 1950 – 1953. He bravely fought and was wounded for his beloved country while serving in the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from the war he lived in New York for 34 years where he worked at the New York Transit Authority, Train Division as a supervisor. For the past 31 years he has been a resident of Aiken County. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during his life. Funeral and burial will be held in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, his “Isla Bonita”.
