Anthony "Tony" Howard Wilkerson

North Augusta, SC.......Anthony "Tony" Howard Wilkerson went for a walk on November 5th and just kept walking into the presence of Jesus. He was 71 years old and beloved by many.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Grace Fellowship of Augusta with Rev. Wade Trimmer, Pastor Jason Mitchem, and Rev. Brian Fields officiating. Private family interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Grace Fellowship of Augusta on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Tony served in the US Air National Guard for six years. He had a degree in Biblical Studies from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS. He was very involved in church ministry for most of his life and served as Music Minister, Youth Pastor and Missions Pastor at several churches across Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia. He was most recently a realtor with Douglas Lane Real Estate and taught classes for the Georgia Academy of Real Estate. He coached football and baseball, as well as taught independent study students at Augusta Christian School in Martinez, GA. 

Tony loved traveling and going to other countries to minister to those in need. He studied the bible and wrote devotions each day that he shared with friends and family. One of his favorite scripture verses was Romans 8:28-29, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” He enjoyed singing, playing instruments, the outdoors, discipleship and hanging out with his family.

Tony resided in North Augusta, SC with his wife of 48 years, Lynn Bennett Wilkerson. He is survived by his mother, Lavinia Wilkerson, his brother, Norman Wilkerson (Robin), his children, Mandy Kirkpatrick (Matt), Josh Wilkerson (Audrey), Caleb Wilkerson (Chrissy), Erin Wilkerson; his grandchildren, Joshua, Jesse, Owen, Lucy, Eliana, Zoe, Ameris, Rowan, Annie, Charlie and Leo (who is on the way).
