North Augusta, SC…… Mrs. Vera Thorne Herrington, 90, wife of the late Delray Herrington, of Nut Grove Drive, entered into rest on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at University Hospital.

Funeral and interment services will be private.

Mrs. Herrington was born in Ellenton, SC and loved reading and traveling. She loved attending Sweetwater Baptist Church where she was a member. She retired after many years of service as a medical secretary.

Survivors include a son, Butler Thorne and his wife Debbie; a daughter, Susan Thorne Holley and her husband Hinton; five grandchildren, Charles H. “Trey” Holley, III and his wife Stephanie, Kelley S. Holley, M.B. Thorne, III, Amy Thorne and Alison Thorne; and 2 great grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her first husband, Middleton B. Thorne, Sr.; her parents, Hoyt and Maggie Atteberry; and one sister, Eva A. Bailey.

The family would like to thank Dr. Billy Thurmond, Melissa Bush and Garland Mitchum for their love and care for Vera.
