North Augusta... Sun Ki Son, 72, husband of Back Hap Son, entered into rest on November 2, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Sun Ki and his wife came to the United States with $50 in their pockets and quickly landed on their feet. They bought their first home in Burbank within the first couple of years of living in the United States. They owned numerous successful businesses in Southern California throughout their working careers.
Sun Ki always said he wanted to retire in Korea. He attempted to semi-retire in 1994 and moved to Seoul, but quickly returned to the United States within 2 years to be there for his children and his only grandson at that time, Ricky. He realized his home was not Korea, but with his family.
Sun Ki loved his wife of 50 years and spent his entire life working extremely hard to provide for his family. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and asked very little of anything from others.
