Matthew Jon Nieman

North Augusta, SC…… Mr. Matthew Jon Nieman, 59, husband of Marcie Ann Nieman, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC. 

The Mass of Christian Burial and Prayer Service will be held at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. 

Mr. Nieman had made North Augusta his home since 1997 and was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church where he was on the financial planning committee. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting deer and birds. He was a graduate of the Ohio State University and was an avid Buckeye fan. Matt was selected the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce “Small Business Person of the Year”. He was a supporter of many local charities. A longtime Nationwide Insurance Agent, he was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for life insurance sales, he was the recipient of Nationwide’s President and Champion Awards as well as many other awards throughout his career.

In addition to his wife, Marcie, survivors include his mother, Ramona Nieman of Columbus, OH; his son, Austin Nieman of North Augusta, SC; his daughter, Hannah Nieman Columbiabvg, SC; one brother, Phil Nieman and his wife Barbara of Gahanna, OH; two sisters, Kim Gosney and her husband Craig of North Augusta, SC, and Janet Shawhan and her husband Tom of Hillsboro, OH; and many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

The family will receive friends at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. 

Pallbearers will be Steve Hiott, Henry Frischknecht, Haynes Waters, Chris Heath, Tim Hattaway, and Austin Taylor.
