Mrs. Mary Alice Ivey went home to Jesus on Saturday, April 7, 2018.
Mrs. Ivey loved Jesus, was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was fondly known as “Grams” by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ivey, daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Lula W. Mayson was a life long resident of North Augusta. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta for more than 90 years where she most recently served in the home bound ministry. She is a 1941 graduate of North Augusta High School and retired from Trust Company Bank of Augusta in 1988 after 25 years of service.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James M. Ivey, Sr, brothers Eddie, Bennie Lee, and Henry Mayson and sisters Thelma Prather, Addie Hobbs Beyers and Maybell Boyd.
She is survived by her children Judy Hankinson (W.W. Buzz) of Augusta, GA, Jim Ivey (Angie) of Savannah, GA, Jean Haynes (Rick) of Amarillo, TX and her sister Betty Rogers, North Augusta, SC. Her grandchildren James W. (Hank) Hankinson (Melissa), Benjamin C. Hankinson (Deidre), Elizabeth Ivey Zeigler (Michael), and Taylor Ivey. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren Jacob, Emily, Andrew, Ethan, Luke, Crimmins, Maddox, Whitner and Nora. Many loving nieces and nephews and a very special family friend Don Manly.
The family would like to thank Camellia Walk nursing staff, Southeast Hospice staff, Nikki and the Girls and Comfort Keepers for their extraordinary loving care of our Mother.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
